What now that the masks has fallen? Do we resort to our old habits if we had some of those nasty ones? Or are we more conscious of the dangers lurking through disinfected or unsanitised surfaces? We have good bacteria that our bodies need and work with and then we have some really unwanted, harmful and dangerous bacteria.
The body and the environment can exchange germs through human hands. In high-risk settings like the healthcare and food-handling industries, hands can host dangerous organisms like meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus or Escherichia coli.
Have we considered how will we do things post COVID?
Essential in any environment is to clean, disinfect and sanitise where humanly possible. So will sanitising or disinfecting your home or work environment be a high priority on your checklist? Or do we let our guard down, not sufficiently washing our hands, cleaning surfaces we continuously come into contact with?
Washing of hands, for the writer was something I observed with quite a watchful eye especially when someone emerged from the bathroom, oblivious to who might be looking waltz out of the ladies without washing their hands, yuck! I do believe though that COVID has brough about an awareness. A heightened desire to wash our hands, to ward off any chances of getting the COVID Virus. So hopefully, to those that that avoided washing their hands especially from the ladies or the gents, there are more dangerous viruses lurking all over and you might just take some of it home with you.
