Overcoming Obstacles: My Entrepreneurial Journey and How You Can Too
As I journey through life, I learnt much about this person “Fatima Davids” and every influence over my life. As I navigate through life, there have been many times when I couldn’t fully understand the “what,” the “why,” and the “how” of the circumstances I faced. Many a time, I’ve wondered, “What is happening to me? Why me? How can I change everything to fit the vision I had for my life?”In hindsight, I now see that if I had been able to write the narrative myself, I may have charted a very different course. Not the right one. Because I still have so much to learn about life. I do not for one moment think that I know it all. However, the biggest event in my life was responding to a higher calling – saying “Yes, Lord, I want to take up the cross and follow you.” I grew up in the Islamic faith and made the holy pilgrimage to Mecca, but I’ve come to realize that through it all, Yeshua, the Almighty, has never abandoned me. Despite being baptized at birth and then adopting the Islamic faith at a very tender age due to my mother’s remarriage, I’ve come to understand that our choices, whether good or bad, are ours to make as human beings. It was not God who hurt me, but rather the actions of people. My divorce from my first husband was a pivotal moment, as it led me to a profound realization – I had been searching, but the peace I needed could only be found through the sacrifice of Christ on the cross, which bought my salvation. I’ve learned that my relationship with Yeshua is more important than anything else in this world. This world, which is filled with deception, lies, and evil is not forever. It’s a challenging journey, but in Him, I find refuge and strength. I don’t want to dwell on the past, but rather encourage anyone reading this to respond to the call and find everything in Yeshua. He paid the ultimate price for us, and through Him, we can accomplish all things.
TABERNACLE
At CorpChem, we strive to worship Christ through the work of our hands, offering our efforts as a sacrifice of praise to Him.
The Scriptures are clear that we are called to love one another, for “love comes from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God” (1 John 4:7).The Apostle Paul exhorts us, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ” (Colossians 3:23-24). We are to approach our work with this mindset, recognizing that we are ultimately working for an audience of One – our Heavenly Father.
The writer of Hebrews reminds us, “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him” (Hebrews 11:6). As we dedicate our work to the Lord, we can take comfort in the promise that He sees our efforts and will reward us, not for our own merit, but because of our faith in Christ. Jesus Himself taught, “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
Our work at CorpChem should be a reflection of the transformative power of the gospel, drawing others to worship the one true God. The Apostle Paul further instructs, “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). This should be the guiding principle for all that we do – to bring glory and honour to our Savior through our words, actions, and the work of our hands. As we labour at CorpChem, let us do so with hearts full of love for one another and a deep desire to please the Lord. May our work be a fragrant offering, a testament to the transformative power of the gospel and the joy of serving Christ.
